Guests Posted 03 August – I think it depends on the type of dyslexia a person has and i think it depends on the environment and on the empowerment the dyslexic person had from a very young age until the present day. I have a dyslexic cousin who has always been very self assured, who hada no problem achieving in the work-force and who had no problem trying to get a date and who had no problem relating to his date.

Cognitive skills also play a part and im sure there has to be some kind of a cognitive balance between two people who are trying to relate to each other. My cousins type of dyslexia doesnt seem to affect him when he is in a relationship. Im 50 and i have never ever asked someone out and i never will. Well i know how my personal type of dyslexia affects me and i wont be able to relate to another person in a reasonable balanced knowledgeable manner.

My dyslexia affects my ability to retain many types of knowledge and when i try to join a public type of conversation.. I usually just stand there speechless. I wish it wasnt like this for me..
